Meet The Team
Dr Todd SmytheChiropractor Todd first experienced Chiropractic care at 10 years of age following a cricket injury. After numerous practitioners and treatments, it was a Chiropractor in New Plymouth who found the cause of the problem. Impressed by the results and natural healing concepts of Chiropractic he was inspired to pursue a career in Chiropractic.
Todd studied Chiropractic in Melbourne, graduating in 1996. He has since practiced in Australia and the UK, before returning home to New Zealand to set up ‘Chiropractors on Fraser’ in 2008.
Todd is a caring family Chiropractor who focuses on providing quality effective care for young and old, using safe proven techniques tailored to the individual. He regularly attends the latest seminars and training to keep up with the rapid progress in Chiropractic care. In his spare time he will be found spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys running, mountain biking and motorcycling
Dr Lawri RutherfordChiropractor Dr Lawri Rutherford was first introduced to Chiropractic by observing her mother’s experience and relief of chronic neck discomfort and headaches. Coming from a long sporting history and a strong interest in health sciences, her chiropractic journey began studying at Otago University, and graduated at the NZ College of Chiropractic.
“My focus at Chiropractors on Fraser is to help everyone reach their full potential and health care goals; whether that be to improve health and wellness, reduce symptoms and increase healing, getting top marks at school through improved concentration, scoring the winning try on the weekend through increased performance, or reducing the stress and tension commonly associated with today’s lifestyle. You are never too young or too old to experience the benefits that Chiropractic care has to offer you.”
Dr Rutherford can offer a range of different chiropractic techniques and is also specialized in paediatrics, welcoming babies, children and pregnant women to experience natural health care.

He went on to study at a leading university in South Africa where he graduated in 2003.
His diversified, pain based approach to treating patients involves an initial in-depth history taking, advanced motion and postural analysis and mapping out a quality treatment plan specific to each individual’s needs. Marlon employs the use of various muscle techniques, effective dry needling, along with skillful spine and joint manipulation in order to achieve the best possible outcomes within the realm of neuro-muscular-skeletal medicine.
